Can someone please help me get started working out how to make this controller work. I am new to everything. I set up ZHA with sky connect. but should I switch to Z2M? I managed to get short press buttons working by editing a blueprint someone made but I can’t get long presses working. Thank you
That page doesn’t mention zha compatibility. What makes you think it is compatible with zha?
i saw someone had made a blueprint for zha?
i tried it but the long presses didn’t seem to work
That blueprint is for a different model made by a different manufacturer.
You might have to accept the fact that the one you have doesn’t send long press events in ZHA.
If you listen to zha_events in Developer Tools > Events, do you see anything being fired when you do a long press on one of the buttons?
thank you. i assumed it was the same product from china just rebranded. i didnt check for events in developer tools, but in the logbook under the device it didn’t seem to be firing anything for long presses.
i switched to zigbee2mqtt using the skyconnect dongle and it seems to work fine
Glad you managed. You’ll learn soon enough that if the model Id doesn’t match by even a single character, the device will not be recognised as the same model.
thanks! i edited the model name in the blueprint file. it did recognise the device then, and the short presses worked. but never got the long presses working
