Can anybody point me in the direction of an ESP32 based device that:
Is in a prefabricated box or case - doesnt have to be fancy, i just want to put this on a shelf
Has a screen of 4" or larger - touchscreen isnt necessary
Obviously works with esphome
I’m imagining something a bit like one of the M5 Stack devices but without buttons, and with a larger screen. And hopefully even cheaper.
I just want to make a couple of devices that display HA sensor values/states and I cant find anything suitable. I know I can use tablets etc but thats overkill.
Got a couple of those Guition 4" displays myself. They are quite happy being run from a USB (type C) supply, or mains voltage (either 120V or 230V).
If you are mounting the module in a wall box, it needs to be a EU/UK standard 86mm (3" in the UK) square back box (not round), and at least 25mm deep. A 35mm deep box is better. And if you use a metal box, the lugs top & bottom will need knocking out.
There is another variant out there that looks superficially the same as the Guition device. But it lacks the relays and mains supply → https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005006550013155.html - If you get one of these, I’m afraid you are on your own.
Thanks for the ideas guys. @nickrout do you know if the one you linked to has 5v dc input of some kind? The page is pretty sparce on details. I dont need this to actually be any sort of wall mounted light switch, i just want a display in a case driven by an esp.
