Home Assistant and August Connect and August Lock

The below merged pull request looks like will be available with .64 will add a native august connect component.

Oh man, thats awesome. I wonder if that component is built into the dev build of home assistant. I wonder how well it will work - if there will be a better response to commands.

Thanks for sharing!

Since it’s merged, it is in the dev build of HA.

I am curious. I think I’ll give this a try later since the last tasks linked on git hub are updating documentation.

If I’m reading this thread, as well as the docs correctly, if I were to purchase a third gen August Lock, I would NOT need to purchase a Connect?

Did you ever solve this? I just purchased a Gen 3 August lock but have had no luck in getting it to run. I see it in the HA UI but it appears as Unavailable. Looking at the logs I see the following:

2018-12-19 21:33:20 ERROR (SyncWorker_10) [homeassistant.components.august] Request error trying to retrieve door status for Front Door. 409 Client Error: Conflict for url: https://api-production.august.com/locks/450E0EA3A42445CE93856456FBD10731/status

I just installed my Gen 3 and am getting this same error. Any progress on this?

August is a flaky platform to integrate with. works great from the phone app, a train wreck to integrate with. I love my Yale Assure SL locks they are completely awesome! Ever since AUGUST was acquired by ASSA ABLOY (YALE), they started turning out some really awesome new products from the other lock divisions. But they are not doing anything to improve their inter-connectivity and API Issues.
