I have very same experience!
Some dashboards works as they used to, some are lacking information, and some dashboards are shown “totally empty”.
And this is with Google Nest Hub.
It is now not a big deal for me but I hope it will be fixed …
Same experience here. Some custom cards are not shown in the cast…
Core update yesterday fixed my problem.
I also had problems earlier that was fixed by an update but now suddenly buttons are not showing upp an cards when using the cast integration. Everything else works.

Yes, I have the same problem. All Grid Cards disappeared from Nest Hub2 after the last update. They show all right in browser and in mobile. I could not find any explanation or solution to this.

Suddenly, the Grid Cards came back. I did nothing. They were three days away. This must be a Google automatic update of something.
Or your cast’s cache was cleared?
Interesting. Is it possible to clear the cache manually?
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but will home assistant be implementing matter casting?
This would finally enable us to cast to Amazon devices.

Have this problem for years now.
I use cloudflare.
I can access HA from outside i can cast text to speech when outside,…
But never been able to cast my lovelace view.

Its fairly stable,
However cast fails after a period of time and the only way to fix it is to restart home assistant for me.
There has been a fault raised for it, but it’s not been fixed yet

This is my Google Home Hub that gets a Home Assistant dashboard casted to it.
Tonight I have realised that the below image is what I am shown with the background not black as it should be it’s like got confused as the cards show black as they should be.
Hub was set to auto as it has been since setup over 18 months ago so it casts between light and dark dashboards during the day depending on the light levels it receives no automation or anything for this just something it does which is great. I have now set it Dark mode manually within the Google Home app and am still getting this issue. Setting it manually to Light mode casts as expected with a white background and white cards.
However as this is next to my bed the dark mode is pretty critical for a good nights rest.
Little bit stumped on how to resolve. Have even tried setting a dark background on that dashboard as a temporary fix to darken it however that wallpaper doesn’t seem to want to push onto the cast either but not as fussed over that at the moment.
Have already tried manually setting the frontend.set_theme to Dark with no success in it working. Something clearing not quite right as you can see especially as the text is displaying as I would expect it to in white if it was in dark mode so it seems the main issue here for whatever reason is the background is like stuck on white which produced this weird issue.
As far as I can remember it was working last night and I haven’t changed any config etc at all today so unsure why the random issue. Have also tried the obvious of restarting the hub too and re-casting the dashboard multiples times. Have also tried other dashboard and get the same issue.
Any help or ideas would be great.

Same here. Works since i owned the casts three weeks ago. Since yesterday this issue nothing changed.

I originally thought this may be due to 2025.1.0 update but I did this the day before I saw the issue and someone within this thread above is still on 2024.12 so it kinda rules that out.
I just just looked however a little at my log file and it seems to be spitting out cast errors left right and centre but I don’t know if it’s just me.
Having the same issue casting to a Chromecast, but it didn’t show up until I upgraded to 2025.1.1 this morning. The fact that this white background issue is independent of the version HA, suggests a problem on the Chromecast side of things. About a month ago, Markdown cards stopped displaying for me when cast to the Chromecast.
