Home Assistant crashing after clocks changed?

It’ll be home-assistant.log.1 probably. in the /config/ directory (or where ever you install has it’s config files).

Additional fix. This one has been a problem for a while though so it likely won’t get back-ported (only affects turning clocks forward), but it should be in Wednesday release (2021.11)

## Proposed change  Fix recursive limit in find_next_time_expression_time `find_next_time_expression_time` would increment the time by 1s and try again if it encountered a nonexistent date time. It would be highly advisable to upgrade to 2021.10.7 or 2021.11.0 (when it comes out) for anyone with a time zone that has an upcoming DST change in near future.

Just experienced this myself (Eastern/US time) and everything was unresponsive with HassOS. First indication was I got up and it felt cold (thermostats didn’t go up in temp) and the ESPHome devices were blinking WiFi searching.

Looking at the logs it looks like they are full of 1AM it started trying to run an hourly automation over and over again.

When I checked the VM console it was scrolling something about out of memory before the reboot (has 4GB) although looking at “free -m” it showed 2GB available from HassOS.

Issuing a reboot command to hassos got everything back going again.

The log goes on for ages and ages a bajillion times a second trying to run an already running task until it crashed or something ending at 1:09:53 (too much to scroll thru for any other errors)

Ah didn’t realize that when I was sleepily posting. I wish there was some alert to get notified of critical updates that need to be applied to avoid complete loss of service - I don’t go out looking for updates on every system I have every day.
