Home-assistant_v2.db.corrupt - what is that?

Hi all,

I’m wondering, why my snapshots are constantly and significantly growing. I’ve just ~30 physical and maybe ~100 artificially created ones. My current snapshot contains data recorded within the last 6 month, but this is ‘only’ a little bit of text, so compressing this should be possible.
But the size of my last snapshot was already 700MB, so my question is/was, where is this amount coming from?

After opening the tar-ball, the first thing I saw was a file called:
home-assistant_v2.db.corrupt.2021-05-07T02:12:00.773266+00:00

Does somebody know, what this is and whether it could be deleted?

Thanks,
Fridolin

That is your recorder database. It contains history of your sensors and states. If you would like to reduce it’s size there is some advice here:

Hi Tom,

thanks for your answer.

I could understand ‘home-assistant_v2.db’ that is the current DB, but what is the file labeled as ‘corrupt’, which is like > 10 times bigger?

This that remaining from after a crash or similar?

Fridolin

Yeah. You can safely delete that from /config

Mission accomplished - from pretty much exact 700MB down to 232MB

hello,

My history is showing as normal in the menu, but I can’t find it in /config

After a backup recovery the home-assistant_v2 is missing in my /config. When I try to putt a new home-assistant_v2 in the list, I get a notification that this file already exist.

I don’t know if the file is corrupt or if it something else, is there somebody who can tell me what the solution is?
