Home Security Cameras

i just bought a dahua camera for outside. This is definitely better than the pi zero’s im using now .
So i can’t say yet if it’s good, but i did a little bit of research and came to this forum There is a lot of information on different camera’s so you might want to take a look there. i’m getting the slightly newer ZE version.

Same thing with Sighthound Video. Two cameras = reasonable cost. Unlimited cameras = expensive. Nothing in between.
Sighthound does have excellent motion detection though. It uses image recognition routines to look for people not just number of pixel changes.

Windows and Mac only. No Linux.

As predominately a Windows user, I vote for blue iris. Its fairly inexpensive at $50 and I’m pretty sure it can handle all the cameras I’ll need in my home environment. I’ve got six in use now and no issues. I think the limit may be 32 but I’m not exactly sure of that. I tried zoneminder but haven’t quite figured it out yet.

@jeubanks what did you need to do to get your EzViz cameras into HA?

I use Xeoma as the camera management software. It runs a web server than can present the cameras to HA. There is a Xeoma component as well that was working great until the most recent updates. The component hasn’t worked for me since the 0.65 updates.
