Homeassistant.io on Pi with attached touchscreen

I have the standard 7" RPi touchscreen attached to the same Pi that I am running the homeassistant OS on and would like to run the app in chromium kiosk mode but it looks like the HASS OS does not allow/support installing a package manager or any applications outside of the home assistant add-ons.

Can anyone suggest a way to use my touchscreen as the main interface.

Home Assistant OS runs headless. If you want to install a desktop environment look at one of the other installation methods.

Install debian.

Install supervised install.

Install chromium.
