Hello everyone,
I would like to convert my control cabinet with impulse relays (yes, all switches lead to the basement and all actuators to the light outlets, blind relays too) to a controllable smart home for HA.
The choices here are probably KNX (from mdt?) and HomematicIPwired.
In terms of price, HomematicIPwired (and PImatic on the CCU3) looks unrivaled cheaper than KNX.
Is HomematicIP still up to date and maintained?
Are there any functional limitations of Homematic to KNX (assuming that I only need light switches, lights, dimmers and blinds there and can also operate them with Homematic (in stand-alone mode, i.e. without Home Assistant))?

I’m at the same point like you right now. Renovating an old house and thinking of KNX or something similar to install. I’m kinda unhappy with Zigbee at my flat even if it got better since.
I’ve got the software for programming KNX at my business. Maybe it’s the way I’ll go.
What choice did you made?
Found an article which compares both systems. Unfortunately it is in German.
But it says KNX is cheaper and open. You can choose many different manufacturer and combine it in one bus. One big disadvantage is the software from ETS.
