How can I read a value from a file on my PC into Home Assistant?

For what it’s worth, I use the GoogleDrive / Sheets API for many of these tasks. Much of my financial data lives in Sheets (And is updated automatically each day). I pull that info into HomeAssistant with the Google APIs and NodeRed. It could be accomplished without NodeRed though, put I find pulling info from APIs MUCH, MUCH easier using NodeRed.

Still stumped, though, that you couldn’t get the integration to work.
