How important is the MicroSD for add-ons? and HA stability overall

I have used Home Assistant for about 7 years.
I started with Raspberry Pi but it kept failing without any interference or changes after a random period.
It usually starts with add-ons not working.
I updated to an Odroid N2+ with new MicroSD and it was super fast and no more problems for like 1 or 2 years.

A month ago I moved to a new apartment so completely fresh install.
I added some stuff like node-red, z-wave (successfully).
Everything was going fine for weeks until suddenly add-ons stopped.
I tried everything but even HA wouldn’t restart so install was dead.
I tried fresh install on same MicroSD but it gave an error on set-up so I figured MicroSD was dead.

I tried fresh install on old MicroSD which was slower but worked.
Tried installing Google Drive backup Add-on right away for obvious reasons and after that whole add-on page was dead again.

Anyone recognize these problems with MicroSD’s and random breaking of HA, especially add-ons without any changes to anything?

Is it just the MicroSD?
And if so, what type of MicroSD have you had best succes with?

Hi maxdaniel,

Buy a lottery ticket, this is very unusual…

HA installed on emmc, but not enough space now. MicroSD a good idea? - #2 by Sir_Goodenough.
All SDcards wear out, some sooner than others. Don’t use them.

Thanks for your reply. Will look into this.
