Did you also restart VB?
Don’t forget to turn the firewall back on.
I’m out of ideas.
I want to only learn about HA.
But I don’t have any devices so I can’t see HA dashboard on my local PC.
How can I access HA dashboard without VB+Windows?
You need to make sure your hostOS network adapter is in promiscous mode.
Bridges network will not work otherwise because the network adapter will not forward packets to the computer for other Mac addresses than the one programmed in the network card.
It might be possible to do it in VB, but it could also be somewhere in the settings of the network driver.
Sometimes it requires a special network driver and sometimes it is not possible at all.
If you find it not activated, then activated it and try all the previous steps again.
Wally is correct. So far this is not an HA issue, it is a virtual machine issue where your VM is not getting IP assignment from your router.
You will want to poke around internet and see how your VM would be able to get IPv4 from the brand/model of your router.
If you go to the IP assignment page on your router management web interface, what kind of IP’s you are getting? What is the IP of your PC? Do you see home assistant getting any IP from the router management web interface?
