How to create association with zwave JS or zwave JS UI

This is the first entry that didn’t give me an error. We’ll see if it has any troubles with new devices later, but I was able to set the device associations on my 3-way switches, and they work even if the system is offline!

LOL, I was going to set up a zwave remote with a zwave power outlet so I could have direct association…this is too much work, I’ll just stick to the automation or use zigbee and its easy binding procedures…

I tried to set this up with a Zooz ZSE18 Q sensor, and Zooz ZEN76 on/off switch. I got the sensor to work and report motion status as clear/detected in Home Assistant. I created the association successfully as well. Unfortunately, it has zero effect on the target light switch node. Using an automation in HA works, but there is a very significant delay due to the sensor being on battery and taking a while to wake up, and the distance of both the sensor and switch to the hub, with numerous hops.

What’s the secret to getting it to work with this device ?

Unfortunately, I don’t have many other sensors to try. I have the Zooz ZSE18, but the version I have doesn’t support S2 auth. I suppose I could downgrade my switch to S2 unauthenticated to match it, but in this case the switch and sensor are both less than 10ft from the hub, so the association just isn’t needed.

I also got a couple Ecolink TILTZWAVE1 and First Alert ZCOMBO smoke/CO alarms. Not sure if any of them supports associations. I suppose it would be cool to turn the lights on in the garage when the doors close. For the alarm, at least turn on the switches in the room.
