How to get iBeacon sent from iPhone (can't find it in iOS companion app)

Hi,

I am unable to figure out to add tracking of my iPhone’s via iBeacon. For my android phone, I found the settings in the app, set up UUID, major, minor… and it got recognized just fine. But I can’t find that in the iOS app, nor is anything being recognized by the iBeacon integration.

Im want to setup espresense with HA, and started looking at the campanion app, but I dont see the bluetooth as part of sensors either, did you find a solution ? Im a little confused because everywhere I read it says that ios and android setup is the same.
Did you every find how to do this ? Or does the iPhone automatically transmits ?

after some research doesnt seem like this is possible on ios. I`m going to try to make a post asking what people are doing.

LightBlue app (free) can do it on iPhones. One big negative is that the app eventually gets deprioritized by the phone in order to save the phone’s battery power, then the beacon signal is sent out less and less often. Sometimes, the app gets shut down completely by the phone. And of course, if you restart your phone, the app will not automatically be restarted.

Are you just looking for a local Bluetooth Home/Away presence recognition of your iPhone? Or does it have to be by the iBeacon protocol?
