If someone it taking down clothes or putting them on, there will be motion.
@daneboom wants to know if/when clothes are on the line to be alerted when rain arrives.
As long as a mask it applied to the camera to not catch motion from the foliage and use a rule that motion must last for at least x sec (to avoid someone walking by once triggering it), it should be fine.
motion offers settings to match above requirements and even allows commands to be executed after a motion was detected (like MQTT messages that keep being sent to HA to confirm clothes are still on the line)
Going AI/machine learning feels way too complicated and OTT for this type of task…
