That right there is the part that makes the difference.

Guys, he’s not using zigbee so definitely no Ethernet coordinator: so there is no use to talk about that, it’s not answering the OP in any way.

I thought I’d use the 2nd Pi to update the backup SD card with the latest backup from time to time.

If you do this on running systems, you will have to address the IP address issue and check if that could be a problem if using different ones in your setup.
By only copying the HA config files, you might have them running simultaneously, except that automations could act strange (I have experienced that and didn’t realize immediately that this was because the 2nd system that I had running)

Ok, I’ll try running them simultaneously for this purpose and see what happens. I’m aware of the IP address conflict that might occur, but I’m able to solve this. If something strange happens I’ll report it here. I almost expect it from HomeKit, maybe all devices twice or something like this.
