In my use case, I have a Shelly Door/Window2 smart reed switch on the garage side door that I’m always forgetting to close properly. I use the open/close entity state to trigger a notification to my phone after 2 minutes of being in the open state. I may flash a room light as well in case my phone is not on my person.
I have another for one the garage door is left open for more than 30mins.
