Gary, pure typos. I was trying to avoid typing a copied that from your post. Same error
Ahhhh. I see says the blind man. it was like this
changed and added in "log"and surprise the card came up. I should have figured this out on my own as obviously the integration was work as show by the presence of related entities
Sorry to be so slow⌠but all good now
@DanielDx You are not missing anything. FamShr returns the locations of all devices in the Family Sharing List with one request to your iCloud account so a request for the FindMy would duplicate the location data already received. Plus, the location information for the FindMy devices seems to be a little behind the FamShr devices from a location time point of view. The FindMy support is really provided when you want to track devices that are not in your Family Sharing List.
In v3, you will have more control over how the location requests are handled. For each device, you will be able to specify the FamShr and the FmF (FindMy). If you specify FamShr=None, the FmF will be used even if the device is in the FamShr list. Again, if everyone is in the FamShr list, FmF will not be used, even if it is selected.
I was travelling with my family yesterday and still saw some issues with positioning.
If I do a restart, the devices will be reset to the home potition.
I this how it supposed to be or is this triggered by the icloud?
Because this triggers automations (homecoming).
@NCO3 The current version of iC3 (v2.47) does reset to the Home zone before it does itâs Initial Locate. This has been changed in iC3 v3 which restores everything to the last know position when restarting.
Will it possible to add airtags also as device for tracking?
@poudenes No. Air Tags can not be tracked. Apple does not track them like other devices or provide any location info.
Thanks - I will wait vor ic3 v3 to be released then.
Is the solution not to make the computer where HA exists to trust by apple? like my pc?
Therefore we must have a browser on the HA where we can logon once with my apple-id
Keen to test out the v3 too if you still want testers
Thanks for your work
Is there an ETA for the v3 release?
(No rush)
Ok its the brain dead newbie again⌠I seem to have Icloud3 pretty much installed and sort of working. event logs no errors I think my remaining issue probably cause by tracking method. I have the ios.app Installed on my IPAD and my iphone. The icloud3 event card is accurate for the iphone. My question is that neither device shows on the home assistant map. I imagine this because I donât have the follow-icloud location services configured properly.I am running OS 9.2 core 2022,10.5. The instruction in section 1.3 refers me setting app. My setting app does not have anything related to icloud. During 1.1 it said to delete the icloud integration is installed so I never installed it. Did if do wrong here? Device location on the HA map i just a nice to have⌠any thought?
been using 2.4 for a while and has been flawless. Would be happy to beta v3 if you need more testers.
still playing with zones. Under Setting â Zones i have a badge for my iphone with ICloud3 is tracking in under jay_phone_app_stationary. about a mile away in the middle of a canal. By the page this location is being set under .yaml. I have checked configuration.yaml. /config/config_ic3.yaml. and cant find where this entity is being set. Any thoughts??
duhh read the documentation I guessre read and found out this corresponds to the default off set for the stationary zone
FYI, the Home Assistant mobile app doesnât have any reference to iCloud in it. The desktop app has an integration called iCloud
that you would need to add to see - but itâs unrelated to iC3 and you a.) shouldnât install that iCloud integration if you havenât yet and, b.) uninstall it if you had it. It will cause problems with iC3.
I did not add the icloud integration. Rereading the documentation i found my issue with the stationary. The one feature I really wanted, (push button to add a location/one) I am getting through owntracks
