IKEA Tradfi with Sky Connect?

I am thinking of replacing my Tradfi hub with a Sky Connect or other zigbe (Correct me if I’m wrong) adapter/hub. This should work because I have read that IKEA uses zigbe. I want to connect some E27 60w lights and an E1524 Remote. Can I use sky connect to connect to them directly?

Raspberry Pi 4b 4gb.

Thanks
Inglan

Yes, but please use the forum search as there are MANY posts about IKEA kit waiting for you.

Enabling OTA updates is a good idea to fix several issues with battery life:

Yes, ZHA integration is a Zigbee gateway solution → https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha

Tip is to find Blueprints for easier advanced configuration of remote devices that can be used to perform more complicated functions → https://community.home-assistant.io/c/configuration/blueprints/54

Enabling OTA updates for all devices by default is not always a good idea as some updates are known to break devices. Personally I advice only updating Zigbee device OTA firmware after finding a problem, (and unfortunatly the ZHA integration does not allow you to OTA update only specific devices). See ex:

You can use ZHA Toolkit to manually update OTA firmware on individual devices only if have problem:

I have now integrated my lights with Sky connect and they work great. I have also integrated a remote and while it doesn’t send direct button press events, it still sends an event when button press
