Install HA on internal m.2 SSD without removing it

Hey guys

I’ll be switching my HA setup from a Raspberry Pi 3b to a HP T620 very soon. The HP is equiped with an internal m.2 ssd, but I don’t know how to load the HA onto the ssd. Is it possible to do a bootable usb-stick or should I install a linux OS first? Or any other way to install HA without needing to open the HP T620?
