Thanks , i do have a wifi there.
So i will order it,
Any other part i need ?
I think i would like to connect it to this

I get that you will have wifi there, it was about signal strength. If it’s pretty close just get the normal D1 mini V3.

Power supply, box to house it, cable gland

I already have a sonoff there and a box of the gate control which i plan to get power.
What is the cable gland ?
What is the voltage need ?

The easiest way to power the Wemos is via micro-USB cable (so 5Vdc). If you already have 5Vdc available via another means there are 5V and GND pins you can wire to instead of using the USB socket.

Cable gland:

to seal the gate sensor cable into the box you are installing it all inside of.

Thanks,
I will order it, how do i connect it to the ha ? I have it on rp. ( via usb , and install esp home ? )

  1. Use a USB cable to plug the Wemos into the RPi
  2. Install the ESPhome add-on for Home Assistant (if you haven’t already).
  3. Create your code for the node (there is a wizard to get you started)
  4. Select the USB port when you go to upload the code to the device (the other option is OTA which you can only use after the first code is flashed, ensuring that you include ota: in there)

Thanks . Does the magnetic sensor i linked o.k ? Where to connect it ?

You can wire one side of that sensor to the 3V3 pin of the Wemos and the other side of the sensor to the input pin you choose.

Use this as a guide for pin use.

If you have zwave you can get a mimolite. It’s what I use. I bought a cheap, wired home alarm magnet door sensor to check for open close. Just a thought.

Hi i just got the wemos and defined it
Just check again for the sensor side it suppose to have the no model ( normally open) right ?

That is best from a security point of view but either NO or NC will work. By using NO (open when gate is open) the circuit will show an open gate if the wire is cut, giving you better security.

Hi, thanks
Another question
At the gate i have 220v or 12v ac.
The wemos is 5v dc do you have any idea how to connect it ?
( beside of 220 ac to 5v dc converter, because it is big)

Use a bridge rectifier to rectify the 12Vac to dc, then use one of these to step that down to 5Vdc.

It can be done.
Here is what my outdoor gate contacts look like. It is on wood but this will work on a metal gate with spacers.

I used a 3 inch magnetic contact in the PVC pipe extended from the condulete wired to a wireless sensor that fits in the condulete.
The magnet is on the angle bracket.
completely weatherproof.
This has been working for years now with no problems. With metal you will need strong magnets, use a 3 inch contact and you can double up on the magnets (opposite polarity) to give it a stronger reach if needed.
If you keep the magnet from mounting directly on the metal you will have no problems.

Which is exactly what I said.

The device you send is DC to DC are you sure?

That’s why I said to use a bridge rectifier first to change the 12V AC to DC. Trust me it works, I have a similar circuit setup myself

Hi,
Can you send me a link from aliexpress ?

You only need one but most listings seem to be for multiples, good thing they are super cheap.

Don’t i need this one :
