Good point. So apart from curiosity I don’t really mind as I’ll stick with my verbose method.

I’m not sure why your icon isn’t appearing unless it was broken in the version you are running. It’s possible that you now have to configure it in the customize section instead of the template’s setup.

Anyways here’s the documentation on it

but… After reading the template sensor docs, it appears that you still need to add unit of measure.
