I have 15 odd Z-wave Aeotec Multi sensor 6’s, all working lovely, this is just a curiosity question…

What is that basic switch? what’s it for what does it do?

New "Basic CC" entity

It’s a requirement for Z-Wave certification. You can see the referenced certification issue from the PR you linked to. The entities for the GE/Jasco switches are a bug, fixed in Z-Wave JS v12.3.0.

I would say for this device the entity should not be created. From reading the manual, it sends Basic Set commands, but there’s no indication it supports the class. You could report a bug at node-zwave-js for clarification.

No, nothing, and like I say, it’s all working beautifully, quick with no issues.
