Hi, I have a bunch of Leviton DZ6HD wall dimmer that used to report their status with the legacy Z-wave integration. Now that I have upgraded to z-wave js, none of the switch will update their status when operated manually. Is the zwave_js.refresh_status service the only way of updating the status ?
It turn out the the firmware of my DZ6HD where too old to function perperly with Z-wave JS. Anything older than firmware 1.17 would not report manual status change to HA. I updated to 1.20 using Homeseer Z-Flash and all seems to be working fine on those module.
Firmware came with the homeseer utility. It turn out that it is easier to upgrade using zwavejs2mqtt. Pm me if you can’t locate the firmware. If using zwave2qmtt, just click then node to update, select advanced, the click upgrade firmware. To upgrade using the homeseer utility, you need to move your z-wave USB key to a windows machine. Once the key connected, start the z-flash utility, detect the key, then select inventory or something like that. When you see your device inventory, just select firmware upgrade an select the firmware provided with the utility (in a sub folder of the installed z-flash utility).
It looks like I cannot update my switch. I called them and I was told that I cannot do this. When I try to do it using zwave2mqtt, I see the following:
I’m trying to do the same exact thing. Do you know where the firmware can be found? I found this link on Leviton’s site but it only has Windows executable files, not .hex files like I would expect. Thank you!
Edit: before anyone asks or tries, the files from Leviton want you to plug your Aeotec stick into a Windows machine and join an existing network - I don’t have two z-wave controllers so that does not work for me. There is no option to update directly from the Z-wave stick.
@onlize At that message, just lick ok. Install the Homeseer utility, it will containt the firmwares in c:\Projgram FIles (x86)\HomeSeer\HomeSeer Z-Flash\update…
Use the propoer .hec and it should be recognized by zwave2mqtt.
If not using zwave2mqtt, just license the software (its half price right now) and follow my instructions in previous post.
Thank you @Yan1. I installed Homeseer utility. I checked every folder in the Updates folder and I do not see anything that looks like a GE switch that I need to update. Is there a trick on how to find the correct firmware?
Just upgraded to Zwave-JS and am now having the same issue with my DZ6HD.
I found the file “C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer\HomeSeer Z-Flash\updates\29_1_12801\DZ6HD_01_20.hec” file,. but I have no clue how to apply the firmware update. Is there a guide somewhere?
