Are there any advantage in using hass:icon instead of mdi:icon ?
Not sure but I think hass icons are saved localy instead mdi which are online ???
I haven’t the time to test it but stop your internet connection & look for hass & mdi icons… if there are still there good that’s mean they are saved localy…
