Making an existing deadbolt report on the locked/unlocked state

So, currently I have Schlage BE365 deadbolts on all of my exterior doors.

These were chosen after multiple attempts with ‘smarter’ deadbolts that had a motor to lock/unlock. The wife HATES them and it’s just right out to use any like that. While I am aware that the BE369 exists, it isn’t actually available anywhere I’ve ever been able to find one even listed, and I suspect it’s been discontinued. SO, with that in mind, I am trying to figure out how to get the locked/unlocked status of my doors into home assistant through some transparent method that won’t otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the door (or if anyone knows of another option with a keypad & manually driven lock mechanism, that would also be fine).

I’ve considered the Level Bolt (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086VQ37W4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_69HHD1FM6XN4ZXG31M3N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) but I’m pretty sure it won’t fit in there with the hardware from the BE365 already there, so I’m looking for other ideas from you wonderful people on how else you might get the locked/unlocked status from the door.

If you’re not looking for a smart lock but just the status of a dumb deadbolt, this thread has a number of ideas:

Thanks! That gives me some really great ideas!
