WTH Devices don't last forever but history should!

Home Assistant should allow entities to be migrated, to allow for logical entity migrations. My insert device (for instance: nightlight, dryer, washing machine) does not stay the same forever, but I do want to keep the history - both in the record and in long-term energy dashboard. HA should allow the user to indicate “this entity/device replaces that entity/device - from now on, that device is in every logical sense this entity.” This applies double in the energy dashboard.
