Miele@home, miele@mobile component

Welcome to HA. Made the switch from OH 9 month ago and things are getting clearer.

You should give us some more information. How does your configuration looks like, what is exactly the error message. …

@astrandb Thanks so much for writing this integration! I was wondering, the “old” integration allowed for the EcoFeedback sensor which provided an energy consumption sensor and water consumption sensor. Would it be possible to enable this in your integration as well please?

Also, the program sensor is returning the number ID of the program rather than the name in some instances. Any chance of converting this to plain text? Some of the attributes list the correct name under localized value, but it isn’t displayed as such, only the raw program ID value.

Here are the ID’s to name based on my G7969 model.

Auto - 7
Eco - 22
Gentle - 10 - shows correctly as Gentle
Extra Quiet - 11 - shows correctly as Extra Quiet
Power Wash 60degC - 44 - incorrectly shows as Glasses Warm
Quick Power Wash - 13 - correctly shows as Quick Power Wash
Tall Items - 17
Hygiene - 7
Intensive - 1 - correctly shows as Intensive
Solar Save - 9 - correctly shows as Solar Save
Pasta / Paella - 14
Glasses - 19
maintenance programme - 2 - shows correctly as maintenance program

Thanks again

Uh. I thought we only had this problem with newer generation dryers. Not good.

Thank you for your report.
Sensors for energy and water consumption need to be enabled manually in Home Assistant after first installation. Look at the device page/diagnostics for your dishwasher.
The mapping of program codes to clear text is a challenge because Miele does not document it publicly and sometimes one numeric code can mean different things on different models. We rely on reports from users like you in order to improve the integration. We will have a look to see if there is an easy fix.

Thanks for the suggestion, you’re right the consumption sensors were present, just disabled.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help with the program codes. Thanks again for your work on this, it’s very much appreciated!

New to Home assistant and the Miele ecosystem.
I managed to get the entities working, but I don’t see a device or Miele integration. Is that correct?
I already tried to empty the browser cache and restart HA, but no luck.

Any advice?

Edit: Thanks for your work on this!

I think you have installed “the old” Miele integration. Please have a look at GitHub - astrandb/miele: Miele Integration for Home Assistant and follow the instructions to set it up.

That did the trick, thnx.

I installed this today but after the installation and configuration which was all succesful I get the following error:
This error originated from a custom integration.

Logger: custom_components.miele
Source: helpers/update_coordinator.py:182
Integration: Miele (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 7:59:54 PM (6 occurrences)
Last logged: 8:04:09 PM

Timeout fetching miele data

Any ideas?

Either the Miele servers are down (happens now and then) or it is something else. There might be a clue in the full log where the messages often are more detailed.

Thanks for the feedback and this morning it is working and added the devices  so all cool and thanks for sharing this with us!!!

Every few days I am wondering why my Miele Washing Machine does not give me any Push Notifications via HA on my mobile phone … and when I take a look into HA it showes me “Reauthenticate Integration” (s.a. screenshot).
Has anybody else this kind of problem and has to re-authenticate the integration every few days?
Is there a way to fix this?

I’ve seen this message too but not ‘every few days’. I’d say I have to reauthenticate every two months or so.

The authentication token is renewed automatically in the background just before it expires. If the renewal fails a re-authentication request is triggered. I see this with a random interval of 3-4 months.

Hmm … okay - very interesting then why this message / problem comes at my HA so often?! :S

I don’t get how this registration process is supposed to work. In the readme of the repo, under Installation, when I click on the follwing link:

I land on this page (where there is no way to register):

If one then clicks on “Get Involved”, you’ll get this screen:

So I entered the app name and my email address. After which I received a mail with an activation link. I clicked on the link, which then brought me to a page with my Client ID and Client Secret:

However, the integration wants me to login here:

For this I need a password. I have no clue how I can set my password or where I can get it from. There also is no password reset function. Do I have to write an email to Miele? Thanks for clarifying how this registration process is supposed to work.

It is the same email and password that you use in the Miele app.

I tried that too, doesn’t work either. App works the credentials, login page doesn’t.

Try your credentials here Miele 3rd party API - API documentation → Press Authorize. If it does not work, I recommend contacting Miele

Hint: Other users have had similar trouble when using special characters in username or passwords.
