Migrate direct to HA from ST

I just got a zigbee dongle for HA. I’m going to move all the Zigbee devices currently in SmartThings over to this new dongle.
Will the smartthings hub(aeotech hub) be able to function as a router or extender of the new zigbee network I’m going to have? Or does this process make the hub 100% useless?

It will not. The hub is useless at that point.
