Moving to new home - advice

I am moving to a new home soon and I decided to leave all smart switches behind (z-wave, zigbee and wifi). It would be easier for me to re-purchase those.

I transitioned from Smartthings to HA using ST integration. It worked well for me.

Now I have an opportunity to start from scratch.

10 years ago, zwave was the standard.

Is that the case now? Would it be better to go all wifi to control, lights, fans, windows?

A friend gave me a stick to do the zwave, zigbee locally with HA which I am planning to do.

Any other advice for someone like me, experience with HA, to start from scratch and some other considerations?

Always appreciate the help from this awesome community!

See this: Z-Wave is not dead

I use wired zwave light/fan switches

Zwave or WiFi thermostat. As long as the smart home interface doesnโ€™t need vendor cloud for setup or use

Iesphome devices for garage door and adding smarts to dumb devices. Also anywhere I need custom sensor or outdoor device. There are POE and ethernet units.
