We are renaming that provider to avoid confusion. To be supported the player has to be runnning squeezelite. I recommend you install picoreplayer on those RPIs.

UPDATE: I was able to get the player loaded in MA, but when playing a song it will not play it, the play button will not change. Log shows the following, any ideas what is happening?

Interesting. The above music was selected from Spotify, but when I added local data it worked! So is this a bug for the Spotify plugin? Anywhere this can be reported to MA developers for additional troubleshooting?
So it doesnât work with hardware squeeze devices, like the boom or touch?
Max2play does use squeezelite by the way.
How do you force a reindex of and SMB share? I do have a share with a lot of music and if I look under tracks it say that I have just over 10 000 tracks. But thereâs a lot more in my share.
I did use MusicBrainz Picard to go through one artist with over 10 CDs. To add all ID3 tags correctly. But I does not look like music assistant is picking up that change. Itâs been days since I did that
I cant see anything of value in the logs.
It does but there maybe some issues which wonât be fixed as these are circa 20 years old and the effort / reward ratio doesnât stack up for the project.

It depends on what tags were changed. Start by going to the MA settings and select synchronise now in the menu for the file system provider, if that doesnât work then go to the core settings and in music controller you will find reset database which will wipe it and start again.
In the first instance grab another SD card and try picoreplayer. I havenât heard of anyone else using max2play so itâs hard to say at the moment what the problem is. If it is optimised to replicate the old squeezbox hardware then that may be the problem. MA is not a LMS clone nor does it share any code so no guarantee is made that something that works with LMS will work with MA. For more extensive support ask on discord or GitHub discussions.
Hi, the MAX2PLAY squeezelite implementation does work well. But I am having issues with Spotify no playing. Only local files seem to play. I can add this to github.

Does anyone know if there is a way to limit the volume per speaker? People have almost blown up speakers as they set it to high. Having an admin configured limit per speaker or group of speakers would be a must if I can have other people use Music Assistant.
MA doesnât have that option but you could use a HA automation
If Spotify is playing on other devices then yes go through the troubleshooting page to narrow down the problem and then you submit an issue. edit: But do try picoreplayer first. If it works with picoreplayer then its a problem with Max2Play.

Now Iâm looking to get access to the media from my LMS setup.
Is there a way to get access (especially for my local music files) or do I have to set up a new library within Music Assistant?

I discovered Music Assistant yesterday and installed it.
But I have a problemâŚ
I added Spotify as music provider and I correctly see everything (albums, playlists,âŚ), but I canât play them on my chromecast audio. Itâs like it is playing, but no sound.
I added some radio stations and that works fine.
When playing a radio station and then starting a spotify album, I see the change on screen but the radio is still playing :

. I could use some help troubleshooting Music Assistant if anyone would like to help please.
I have enabled a Music Provider (Spotify, itâs marked as authenticated too) and a number of Player providers (Multiple Google nest hubs and a Denon AVR entity via Media Players). When I choose a nest hub for instance, it powers on and I can even control the volume through the music assistant UI. However when I hit play, nothing happens. I get no sound and no progression on the song timeline either.
At one point there was an error that specifically stated âfailed to playâ in it, but I have not been able to reproduce this error to take a screenshot. Instead, hereâs a screenshot showing a recent log file saying âtask was destroyed but it is pendingâ. I did look this error up and there was not much in the way of fixing it in relation to Music Assistant.
I appreciate any feedback! I really want use Music Assistant, it looks badass! 
@OzGav I use the integration Squeezebox (Lyrion Music Server) in HA and can access the players in the LMS in MA without any problems.
My question is whether you can also access the stored media in the LMS.
No and you should review the MA documentation
- Running LMS on the same server as MA with the MA Squeezelite provider enabled can have undesired effects
- Make sure that you do not have the âslimprotoâ (Squeezebox players) integration running in Home Assistant

Seems I already found the problem⌠âA Spotify Premium account is required for this music provider. Free accounts will not work.â 
My LMS runs on a separate virtual machine.
And with this setup I still have no problems.
