Unless there is a very specific reason why would you ever want to use something else?
ā¦Unless youāre using Proxmox in a cluster where you intend to bounce the workload around. In that case then you should lock and define the processor capabilities so you donāt send your workload to an incompatible host by accident. For that you must know your workload.
But I also am not a fan of running clusters at home so the chance of that is quite low. Itās the only reason I can image needing it but. If youāre doing that Iād lock the proc selector. The prox scripts are setting it to the least common known good. Safe yes butā¦ *points

Does someone knows a way to only play 1 episode from a podcast (via Spotify)? If I play the podcast, all episodes are enqueued.
Can anyone help me out, I think since the latest update my music assistant seems acting strangely.
The homeassistant provider needs attention, and I get Please call connect first messages. I have added a screenie.
I had this the other day, restarting both HA and MA and it went away. Not sure which actually was the problem.
I tried restarting, still got the same issue.
Did you try removing the provider, restarting MA and then re-add it?
@OzGav I cannot remove the provider, itās the home assistant provider. (which is undeletable)
Ah thats right we changed that with the introduction of the auth system. Probably best to come and ask on Discord or GitHub discussions. I havent heard of anyone else that couldnāt resolve this problem
@OzGav good morning, this morning the update 2.7.11 was out installing it fixed the issue for now. I did join Discord by the way, you never know what pops up in the future. Thank you for now.

Why in Music Assistant there is no MEDIA ID for select a media file but only an URL? (which is much more easy for selecting files and music to play)
Does this not explain how to use Iād?
Hello - Iāve been playing around with MA for a couple week, trying to get it integrated into my existing HA automations and scripts. I have a couple of questions:
- Does it always transcode (or remux) the audio? The source will always be Spotify so I donāt know if thereās any benefit to outputting as flac. My server is also fairly old and not very powerful, so always looking to minimize unnecessary CPU load.
- When I play media in HA to an MA media player (added to HA via the MA integration) I donāt see any track progress indication. Itās always available when I play to the HA-native media player, but not the MA one.
audio transcoding is fairly trivial, cpu-wise, and may be needed for some of the features to function properly (cross fading etc).
that said, I donāt know if you can disable transcoding completely (using only direct play) because it streams over http and sends to potentially multiple players with potentially differing capabilities, but you can go into MA settings > players > player advanced settings to disable any potential features, set the preferred bit rates and output, etc.

Go to the player settings and you can change the output codec.
On your second question do you see track progress in the MA UI? What player provider was used to discover the device in MA?
So I realised now that the track progress was a HA dashboard setup issue. Iāve been using both the mini-media-player card and testing out the mediocre-media-player card to compare. In some parts of the config I had it pointing to the HA-native media player instead of the MA-provided player. After fixing it I now see the progress. Thanks.

I have been using MA for quite a while now, but with the most recent updates, I am really starting to love it. It now finally solves the biggest issue I always had around my home, which is proper multi-room-audio that doesnāt either cost a fortune or require some extensive tinkering. Well done, awesome piece of software.
But this then brings me to my question: what is the current proper way to do multi-zone on Denon / Marantz AVRs? The AVR is correnctly picked up by MA, but only the main unit, not the different zones. How should this be handled? Can a separate player be manually configured within MA? Thanks for any input.

Iāve got a problem (since the update to 2.8, perhaps?). The player loses its connection every time I switch tracks:
Iām using YouTube Music Premium with Chromecast speakers. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me?
