Can someone suggest me a more reliable way to extend the range of my Zigbee network to integrate a bunch of Aqara temperature sensor.
The coordinator is a sonoff zibee 3 with custom firmware, I tried to use the same hardware flashed as a repeater but aqara seems to refuse to connect to it.
thank you
Andrea
You could try the Ikea repeaters (router), they are cheap and seem to work nicely in a concrete building were i had issues. Besides that, any Zigbee device that stays powered on like a switchable socket can act like a router. Just check the specs if it will do that.
2 thing to keep in mind tho:
- Make sure you install them where the signal is good from the coordinator or another router.
You can check your signal map in Zigbee2MQTT for that or other ways. - Aqara and some others will sometime not use the router but will connect to the coordinator even if it has a very low signal. Best bet is to pair them at their actual location so you have the best change they will work though the router.
