New Android device does not keep connection info between uses with the companion app

I need to do a few updates I think, and possibly go weed out some redundant and old entities. Maybe that will do something. Thanks for your suggestions, it’s at least a place to start.

Please let us all know if running updates and the general cleanup does the trick. None of that was mentioned as a potential resolution, but one never knows if version inconsistencies can cause these types of problems. Especially with HA and the fact that we all have to embrace and LOVE the concept of “breaking changes” for the sake of moving forward with development. This is probably the #1 reason I am so slow to update versions.

I’ve still not resolved the issue. Everything appears to be up to date, but the problem persists. My next step is a complete wipe and restore of my system and hope that solves the issue.

I figured it out. Mine was doing the same thing.

when you enter the url http://server.com:port number

stop there, don’t put anything after the port number the first time.

Just created an account here to add that a similar solution applies for both android and iOS when using Nabu Casa. When i entered “https://uniquestring.ui.nabu.casa/lovelace/0”, the device never persisted or even asked for permission. For everything to work properly, i had to truncate the URL to only “https://uniquestring.ui.nabu.casa

Thank you so much @dchanceafs for sharing the local solution!

Thanks for pointing this out, looks like this defaults to the web login as opposed to mobile app login. Strange.
