Anybody know what’s going on? I’ve installed the iCloud3 device tracker, I’m getting the 2FA prompts and codes sent through…but the integration seems to work WITHOUT requiring me to actually input the codes I’m receiving from Apple into Home Assistant? That seems odd…?
Yes. Same here.
And I try to log in with the “App-Specific Password” (from iCloud account settings) but it doesn’t allow be to. Any ideas?
Presuming you’re getting a LOT of notifications on your phone (or other iOS devices) that a device has logged in near _______ ?
Yep, have been getting 2FA requests every 30 minutes for months now, getting really frustrated!
Anyone have a solution that works using the find-function on iOS? By working, I mean not getting constant 2FA notifications, because the teacking does work even if these 2FA requests are constantly received.
Having to setup an app on each device is too much work, since kids will probably be poking around with it, and the settings, and then it will stop working, and I will have to ask them for their phone and set it up again over and over. Want something that just works!
iCloud3 is your answer.
But does that not require the “Home Assistant IOS app” to be installed on my daughters phones? If so, this is a no-go!
The “Home Assistant IOS app” is not installed on their phones, and the one on my wife’s phone never works due to the frequent updates, so I constantly have to fix it for her! Don’t need to have 2 more phones to constantly fix an app on!
Also, the so-called installation-instructions are just pointers to feature-documents, not real installation-instructions! I should not have to spend hours dissecting the documentation to be able to do a basic install!
Don’t think it needs the companion app, but happy to be corrected on this. I think if it does have the companion app it’ll be more responsive though.
But I think you need to chill, you sound angry.
Nah, not angry, just a bit frustrated! This has been an issue for months, and I can clearly see from doing searches I am far from the only one having this issue, yet, there does not seem to be a solution, or even one on the way. But then maybe I missed something, what do I know!
This integration worked fine with my HA Core image running in Docker on MacOS. Other things didn’t so I set up HA Core in Docker on Ubuntu. I was able to enter the 2FA value when I installed it. Later I started seeing login attempt notices every half hour. I accept them and it give me a key. There’s no where to enter it. Even if there was, I’m not going to do it on a constant basis.
For now it looks like it is fixed with latest update of HA Core core-2021.2.1 . Anyone to confirm?
