New streaming component and chromecast

Trying to search but keep coming up with old threads…

I see with the new streaming component it allows for camera’s to be cast to Google Chromecasts - can anyone point me in the direction of how to do it?

I’ve got the camera’s configured and displaying correctly with the generic configuration - but would now like to cast them to a Chromecast?

The only problem I have is that it doesn’t work; I’m getting this error:

ERROR (stream_worker) [libav.rtsp] Too short data for FU-A H.264 RTP packet

The above worked for me - now to see if I can get it working from an automation.

This is what I’m trying to accomplish as well.

My thought process:

Create script, scene or automation for each camera.
Then hope to be able to call whichever one works as a command with google assistant.
If google assistant won’t work, then a card or something that allows me to choose what device to stream the camera feed to.

Am I on the right track? Anyone else accomplish this yet?

That’s similiar to what I want to do - I’ll probably spend more time on it over the coming weekend.

I’ve been dealing with this for several weeks. Finally found the magical incantation to enable debug logging in Home Assistant. I believe the Chromecast code is not submitting a valid api URL to the Chromecast device, so I created a Github issue. We’ll see what the Dev team says in a few days.
