You guys rock! Extremely good, fast, …
Thanks for that fix and thanks to @filcole for already integrating. Will come as automatic update soon, hopefully. Until than the fix is implemented manually
I’ve not been able to connect for a couple of days, is anyone else having issues?
Thanks.
No issues for me. It’s working normally.

Have you updated to 2021.9.7 perhaps? The fix won’t stick until pycarwings2 gets a proper release (2.12?) and the requirement is updated in the integration’s manifest.
What year is your Leaf?
Hello there.
Does your project work with the European 2018 40kwh models? If so, what do I put in the LEAF_TYPE?
Thank you!
Hmm good question! Do you use the “Nissan Connect Services” app, or “Nissan Connect EV”?
It may look like the code I forked does not support the older CarWings EU servers. However you should be able to use the native Home-Assistant integration [Nissan Leaf - Home Assistant]
This worked for me, fired up straight away with no issues once I made the change and restarted the core.
Just in case… can we add a “version” to the config… default to v210707 but allow it to be set in the config as an override? This would future proof updates to a certain extent.
Hello everyone. A Home Assist noob here but this integration is the only one I can’t seem to get to work, so I appreciate any help.
Using a 2021 Leaf SV+, North America, the app works fine, I’ve updated the BASE URL in pycarwings2.py per above, the config is copied straight out of the integration page, but I’m getting the -2010 error, per below:
2021-10-06 10:02:57 ERROR (SyncWorker_4) [pycarwings2.pycarwings2] carwings error INVALID PARAMS: -2010
2021-10-06 10:02:57 ERROR (SyncWorker_4) [homeassistant.components.nissan_leaf] An unknown error occurred while connecting to Nissan: <class ‘pycarwings2.pycarwings2.CarwingsError’>
Running HA Core v2021.9.7 and Python 3.8.5. My googlefu has failed and I’m not sure what else to try.
The official integration for the Nissan Leaf is for cars < 2015
This thread was started as a component for the 2011-2015 Carwings, however the thread has been infiltrated by users of cars built after Carwings.
The Carwings version of the Nissan Leaf Component can be found here and is part of HA already.
I hope that answers your question.
Thanks for the reply. I’m using the integration you linked to, which seems to imply it works with NissanConnect EV, but it doesn’t connect per my error. If what you are saying is that this doesn’t work with cars after 2015, then I suppose I’m just out of luck then. Appreciate the heads up, I’ll stop banging my head against the wall on it (or look elsewhere).
Oh - that explains why this hasn’t been working for me. I have a 2018 I just purchased.
I think the Home Assistant documentation needs to be updated to reflect this.
EDIT: The OP says it works with Nissan Connect. What do you mean “the carwings version” and the thread has been infiltrated? Seems to me, it should work just fine according to OP…
Tagging @LiquidPhire since they replied as well and seem to have arrived at my similar initial understanding of your post.
It depends on where you live. When the 2018 refresh came out, North American card had a very different feature set to the rest of us: security features like lock control, etc. We never got those in the EU, don’t know if we have even now…
So the 2018 cars still use the older API over here, but in NA the API is entirely different and constitutes a different platform and library
The newer EU models, at least the 2021, have those fearures as well, and need another way to pull data into HA. I use leaf2mqtt (and the standard integration for a 2014 model).
Hi. Even with changes that used to fix component not working (editing pycarwings2.py, …), nothing helps now. Does anyone have any clue what to try to get it working again? Changed nothing since it worked flawlessly beside updates on core and supervisor.
Thanks for any tip.
