hi,
is there a way to disable the interactive functionality of a switch? so in the GUI I do see the state, but cannot flip the switch itself?

You can create template binary sensor that reflects the switch state and display that.
Or there’s this:
Card-mod thread → 1st post → link at the bottom → disabling a toggle
