A few releases back, the Fan component was introduced. Several of my devices became identified as Fans. Now the fan speed is set as Off/Lo/Med/High. That’s ok and maybe required for some of the newer fan components. However the fans no longer responded to the numeric “brightness” values I was passing. My fans don’t really care about low/med/high, they are fine with the variable voltage being passed in. In addition to the speed settings of Lo/Med/High, can we have the brightness control back? It was nice being able to adjust my fan’s speed by 10% instead of having to settle on an arbitrary value of medium or high.
Since there’s fans up to 6 speeds, it would be nice to have a more granular control of the speed from Home Assistant. Even if it’s setting in percent.
