I renamed my newly created entities, adjusted all of my 20+ automations and things seem to be working great with all of the current functionality.
I also turned on some zones and restarted Home Assistant and none of the powered on zones went unavailable. From my perspective, things look great other than the inconsistency in the entity IDs between 1-9 and 10-12 because of the rename and more specifically, the reorder of the system name and zone name.
Thanks for the great work! I am back up and functional now with new integration!
Looking forward to future additional functionality!
Great work. I did find that selecting Sources 13-18 for a zone had some odd behavior, where most of these resulted in no change to the current source value (e.g. failed to perform the action media_player/select_source). Selecting Source 14 would turn the zone off. I’ve tried this on a couple of different zones and had the same result.
@stevebelisle This should be resolved in beta.2 If you haven’t updated, I would give that a shot. If you are seeing this behavior in beta.2, I suspect something went wrong with your update.
Hey, is everyone stable with beta.2? It’s been really quiet here for a while. Can I ask if people are having success and stability with the integration. I would like to put a stake in the ground that this version is stable and I can start working on v3.
It’s been rock solid for me. Switching sources, volume control, mute, all are snappy and faster than the HTD app for making changes. Appreciate the dedication. Looking forward to testing new features, when they are available.
yes, you can. these devices aren’t chained to my understanding, they would just be standalone devices. this integration can support any number of devices.
The Home Theater Direct system is awesome! Works very well and can easily expand if you need more than 12 zones. I researched a whole home audio system for several years, but always came back to HTD. Easy to install as well. Adam has the one piece I was looking forward to make it fantastic!
Beta 2 definitely fixed my source selection issue. I am now finding that using Volume Up works well up until the starting volume level is 18 or 19, where selecting the Volume Up has no effect. Volume Down works fine.
So I start at anything lower than 8 and when I get to 8 it can’t go higher. I’m just using the default card in home assistant so every time I hit + it increases by 2. Mine also gets stuck at 18. Also got stuck at 98 and then got this error: Failed to perform the action media_player/volume_up. byte must be in range(0, 256)
This error only appears when I get to 98, I don’t see it when I get stuck at 8 or 18. If I start at 9, I can’t go up at all. I can go down, but when I come back up again I get stuck at 8.
oh ya there’s definitely something weird with just playing with the increment, I will look into that . thanks! can someone create an issue for me on GitHub?
