Offset Date for Sensor Values?

Pity this topic is dead, however I wanna mention a case which could be probably pertinent here.
I’m monitoring home energy consumption since the beginning of the year to create a complete statistics to facilitate sizing of an array of solar panels.
For some strange reason one of the ESP8266 sensor I made and attached to the mains, one day in July got probably a glitch resulting in a reading error of 2500Kw in one day (we’ll, hope it was  ) when the average is around 10/12.
It wouldn’t be difficult just to subtract the amount of that day by hand, however all the average and graphs of the entire year looks bogus with such bias.
Knowing the exact value/day/source when the incorrect reading happened how could be possible to manually correct that value in a way to maintain intacy the integrity of the long term db?
No need to mentions it would be backed up during the operation, just in case.

In your case, you could manually edit the long term statistics for that day - see: 2022.4: Groups! Groups! Groups! - Home Assistant (home-assistant.io)
