Openalpr better documentation

Hi,
I believe openalpr is supported, but for the life of me i cant work out how to make it work…

I have created a linux vm and appear to have it running but have no idea how to link that to homeassistant integration.

In googling all i find is more people confused about the same thing, and people trying to write workarounds.

Either way I am stumped. It would be great if there was some sort of tutorial about how to make this work with it running locally… Cloud just works but costs money.

I’m about to embark on the same journey.
Right now planning a docker instance on my main HAS machine and write shell script triggered by an automation that gets the container to process the image. probably building on: OpenALPR local not working

if i get it working I’ll share on github.
