Overkiz API and Somfy API

This weekend I contacted Somfy about this (‘Apparently the API does not support awnings yet?’).

Today I got a reply:

< [email protected]>
Correct, this API does not support awnings yet. Unfortunately, I have no date to communicate.

So, we can only wait… bummer.

Heh, that’s pretty weird. I got the same motor on both, and in the tahoma integration they are both considered awnings. Guess I’ll keep using that integration until (if) the open API is complete, as it works fine.

My awning use the Sunilus IO motors combined with a Connexoon hub.

I wonder how Somfy considers blinds (supported) and awnings (not supported) to be different, as blinds can also be fitted with Sunilus motors…

@ktpx What motors do your systems use? And are you using a Tahoma box or Connexoon?

Btw I couldn’t get the HA Tahoma integration working as I can’t seem to get access to the TahomaLink website… Is that only accessible if you have a Tahoma box?

I totally agree, it does not make sense to support blind but not awnings. I’m pretty sure this limitation is not technical, it seems crazy.
At least now their API works correctly, and well integrated in HA, they will be able to see how many we are to use it.

I have the Connexoon hub too. It will work with the Tahoma integration without a tahomaLink account. Just give the config your somfy account info, and it will work.

Both the motors are Sunilus IO, one screen and one awning. The Somfy app clearly distinguishes the two, so there must be some difference, but like tetienne said, i doubt there is any technical difference, just product differences.

I have zipscreens that was showing in Tahoma as awnings and they were not working in the Somfy integration. Got a hold of a Set & go IO from Somfy (which is a usb connected interface that talks with everything IO from Somfy, used by installers).

With this I easily changed the motors from awnings to screens and they now work great with the official api integration.

That’s awesome :exploding_head: so you physically change the motor of your screen? What’s the purpose of the Set & Go IO? Flash the firmware?

Unbelievable, i will search my Set&Go tonight to check if i can reproduce this
@tetienne Set&Go is a USB dongle for installers. You connect it to a PC with the Set&Go software, this will give you the opportunity to check/configure on site every IO motors locally, without internet or tahoma/connexoon box, neither somfy account.

Nice! So you can fake the type of motors you have?

That just shows that there is really no reason for the API not to work with awnings…at best its one attribute different, but controls are the same.

It seems crazy. Why they didn’t implement this? I can only see marketing reason.

Hello, Now that the API works again for me. How can we have the state open instead of 100%. It works to close as you can see in the photo. Thanks again for this api the state is faster than with the integration of tahoma.

Glad to see it works for you too! I double check my componpent, and I cannot see where we can change this 100 to be displayed as opened. Did you test previously with the Tahoma component to see if it display open in your case?

Apparently Somfy fix was not so final… Tonight my token was not refresh and I’m not able to login as all of you few days ago. I will contact their support.

Not with the tahoma it was just 0% and 100% and in addition to reverse when open he put me close.

Yes tonight Somfy has bugger in both tahoma and api. It seems solved.

I just enabled the SOMFY part, and this error (in dutch) : (quick translation : There was an error)
Er is een fout opgetreden.
Probeer het opnieuw. Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact op met onze dienst technische ondersteuning.

When I do http://192.168.1.x:8123/auth/somfy/callback I got an 500 error.

Any idea what is causing this, I saw that it should be solved 6 days ago ??.

Strange updated from 0.99.2 to 0.99.3 and it was solved.
I can see all my covers now but I am missing my sunsensor, any idea of that device is exposed by the API ?

Oh boy. Somfy API is really a piece of work! I haven’t tried it again, as it wont see my other motor, so im using the Tahoma (which still works).

Hmm,the Tahoma has failed for me since yesterday (also my IOS somfy app failed, solved by installation of IOS 13.1 and reinstalling the APP). Tahoma isn’t acccepting my password anymore (already reset the PW several times).

Just got answer back from Somfy regarding the TaHoma error. They stated since I have a Connexoon the TaHoma part doesn’t work. I replied that everything worked as (with the TaHoma website) till noon Wednesday.
