That is easy to do but i guess it wont work good.
There is always some lag between device tracker, especially wifi ones, and yet armed alarms trigger almost instantly.
I bet every time you come home you would first fire some PIR, wifi device tracker will “get you” in 30 seconds, maybe even 90.
Also, someone can take your phone and disarm house alarm… not so smart also :).
There is an limit where to go with automations, I think this idea is beyond that limit
My alarm payloads are not working for some reason. I have the SP6000 board.
payload_disarm: “DISARM”
payload_arm_home: “ARM_HOME”
payload_arm_away: “ARM_AWAY”
If i add that they are visible but do not work that all arm for away?
Hi all
I am ready to install a paradox sp7000 to my house. What should I ask from the technician to add in the setup in order to integrate it with home assistant? Is there a way to integrate the magnetic reeds also?
1.5 is what I use. 1.4 sounds like it works too, and maybe 1.3… But 1.5 seems like the most common to find. And no, downgrading is very difficult if not impossible. I would recommend finding a 1.5 version straight out of the box. Ebay has them sometimes and I also found some stores that claimed to (but one then sent me a 4.0 version which I had to send back).
And, no, I don’t think there is a GPR+ethernet adapter. You have to buy them separately. They are separate on my system.
Thanks. We are looking to see if we can find the IP150s with 1.5 firmware. If it isn’t available right now I will order it from Ebay later. Probably by the end I’d the next week I will need your help in order to set it up. If I have read correct if we attach the module, I should inserts Mqtt and pass the data to the configuration yaml. Am I right?
I suggest you thoroughly read the first post in this thread and the instructions linked to from there. Better yet read the whole thread. The general expectation here is that you’ve read the instructions, done thorough research of your own, and made a reasonable attempt at making it work.
I will do my homework but I am sure I will need some help. For instance here in Greece there is available only the IP150.
Will it work with this or I should order from ebay the IP150s.?
I read in the documents that it would be better to go with DDNS when I connect the module.
That means that I don’t have to use paradox cloud so no yearly fee. is that right?
(the technician told me that in order to use the IP150 module I have to subscribe to paradox cloud in a yearly basis- like 10€/year)
I installed my IP150 around 5 years ago. There have been some changes to how to access the unit over the internet in the past year or so…
THIS IS HOWEVER IRRELEVANT IN RELATION TO THIS COMPONENT.
When you use this component in Home Assistant, you are not able to use any other interface at the same time into the unit. IP150 only allows 1 logged in user at a time.
THUS --> A cloud subscription, DDNS and other cloud/access based technolgies the guy tries to sell you are all redundant…
The IP150 will talk directly to your home assistant and then you interface with the unit via Home Assistant… THerefore HOme assistant is the only logged in user
MY IP 150 is Fine, works flawlessly over MQTT (You don’t need 150s)
That’s very good news. I will go for the IP150 then. I will inform the installer that there is no need for the subscription part. I really hope that he can manage to install it correctly.
get the unit installed first, make sure you configure the ports and IP address on your local lan. then once you can hit it from you local lan, do the MQTT part…
DO NOT UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE ON THE UNIT… in fact, ask the installer if he can ensure that the corerect firmaware version is installed (NOT THE LATEST)
Thanks.
According to the docs
^^For best results, requires a Paradox IP150S with a firmware below 4.x. 1.x seems to work the best.^^
However IP150S is not available here. That’s why I am asking for ip150.I wouldn’t like to import it because the installer won’t take responsibility of good installation.
If the docs are for IP150 also and if the installer is right about the 1.4 version he told me I think I will be ok
For BEST results not minimum requirements… it’s like eating a biscuit that says best before… it will prbably be fine and won’t kill you, it is just better under the recomended crcumtances…
What you must realise is that this is a community of people who:
Build little hacks to make stuff work better together
Try and document their finds for other to re-use
They in turn take the little hack a little further, and so the solutions grow organically, feeding back all the time on their indiviual findings and hence contributing back to the community.
This is not a commercial store with SLA’s and “Rock solid solutions and guarentees” And therefore anything you do on here, I would suggest you read very carefully and understand the implications before carrying out, otherwise you will end up spending alot of money and find yourself with some expensive paperweights…
So therefore, if, in this scenario, you find something that is wrong with the docs after you have successfully configured something, then you need to contribute back and update the docs for everyone’s benefit, but no-body is guarentee you anything…
Yes, you are right, Usually this not the case with the hardware I add in my home automation. I carefully try to select the hardware that is working most of the times for most users.
Regarding the alarm of the house I HA integration (for me at least) is nice to have option. My first choice was a NX8 Caddx alarm. I did change my mind to Paradox because it is a good alarm too but it could give me the (nice to have) option of HA integration. After reading most of the posts here I really feel like is more a lucky/random choice to get the correct IP150 hardware.
Tomorrow the installer will come home for the first part of the installation so I will discuss about it and make a decision. Bear in mind that the installer (and this is the case for most installers here) don’t know HA at all. so it is difficult to help me further (I am not relative too)
Most probably I won’t add the IP150 because I am almost certain that will be a waste of money.
Thanks for pointing out that
" For BEST results " is something else of not minimum requirements.
To be honest since english is not my native language I did thought that 1.X it is the minimum and afterwards it was only matter of installation & configuration.
I hope in the future someone to find a better way to integrate in HA.
Thanks again for point that out
The same goes @scstraus
