I have to pull a zwave signal over 100ft to the garage with up to 2 cars parked between. It takes 5 routing devices at multiple elevations to make it work, and then just barely depending if the van is parked there or not…

Nope, just 27 of them are battery powered devices.

tl;dr
It looks like you simply don’t have enough routers. I have one or two of these Third Reality switches/routers in every room. No Zigbee device is more than ten ft from a router.
