FYI, I’ve made some progress on this, but it turns out there are lot of odd edge cases to consider. Not the clean, simple solution I had hoped…
I’ll update if/when I’m able to make it reliable enough to use generally.
@Supertim it might turn out this is because the playMedia command was missing a param. At first glance it doesn’t appear important but clearly is.

@jjlawren that PR decisively fixed the issue on both the Samsung and the LG TVs.
