As far as I know that can only be done using the Plugwise Source program. @brefa maybe you still have a Source-install-file available for @bartkummel ?
Just to say enormous thank you for this integration.
I’ve got an USB stck with almost 30 circles and it seems they all are working.
At first only 5 and after a reload finally suddenly i’ve got them all
Btw i only installed this beta (for the circles) + ha core (for a adam and P1) plugin and it worked.
Btw i also used the device name for connection (/dev/ttyUSB0 - FT232R USB UART - FT232R USB UART, s/n: xxxxxxx - FTDI)
One thing unsure. I had to do a reload to get all the circles but i’ve got the impression i had to rename the circles again, is that expected behavior?
Second thing. I guess the documentation would need a little update to get the procedure correct. When new to this it’s easy to get lost
Third. Can i do a donation for this great integration?
Another question. Is there a way to speedup the initial network setup?
I had 25 circles and added 10 more via the software “Source” and i could switch every circle. I moved the usb stick to the HA machine and made sure to use the same port. After a while all 36 circles went online and i could switch them on and off via HA.
Now i stored the surplus 10 circles (of the 36) in a drawer and after a while i was unable to control any circle.
So i powered down ha, pulled the usb stick and waited 10 minutes, plugged in the usb stick and started the HA machine. After a while a few circles went online but from the 25 expected i only get 4 working so far, now almost 24 hrs waiting.
Is there a way to speed thing up a bit?
Unsure what is causing the issue, i guess it’s trying to poll every single circle but has a massive timeout on that?
Just to answer myself. After 48 hrs wait I decided to reboot HA and presto all (25) circles are working again. I did not do anything else as a reboot (which I did several times in the first 4 hours without result).
You should help test the alpha version 0.50.0a2, that one is a complete rewrite of the 0.40.7 code.
Communication-timeouts are indeed a problem mostly due to a busy radio-environment, WiFi, other Zigbee networks. The suggestion is always to use a different channel but I would not know how to achieve that for the Plugwise Stick.
Just tell me how to participate
For the channels. Yes I know. I did that for the raspbee gateway. Do you know which channel the Plugwise stick is using or how to find out? If I know the channel it’s being using I could around it by moving other stuff like wifi.
Btw. HAOS is running in VM on VMware at the moment while the stick is inserted in the host via usb passthrough to HAOS.
Goal is to connect the stick to a Raspberry Pi and then connect the stick via ser2net to ethernet so that HA can connect via serial connection with http. The same for a rfxcom unit. Pi will be powered by 4 or 5A psu. (4xusb = 4x0,5A + 2~2.5A for pi 3B+)
On the pi wil also run 2 dockers. One for zwave and one for zigbee.
Reason for this is the lokation of the server in the basement (now for testing moved to 2nd floor (US), 1st floor (NL))
You can install the new version via HACS, by enabling “Show beta” in the Plugwise-USB integration, under the Redownload option.
A direct upgrade should be possible.
Unable to find that option. I’m using the Plugwise usb / stick Custom_component (BETA) integration via HACShttps://github.com/plugwise/plugwise_usb-beta
Is this the wrong one since I can’t find the option you’re mentioning?
Really
Found the option and running 50.a2
After update to 50.a2 took several tries before integration started without error. Now waiting until all circles are returning.
Btw running OS12. 4 with core 2024.7.3 and supervisor 2024.08.0 and frontend 20240710.0
v50.0a2 id not work alright. Most of the time after reboot i got an installation failure. Sometimes the intergartion got one step further without failure but did not show any circle.
Have restored HA back to working situation with v0.40.7 and right after boot the first 4 circles showed up. Waiting for the rest.
