I use Pocket Casts daily on my phone and only just noticed there was a sensor for it, I had already used my trial period ages about for the web interface so paid the $9 but after adding the really simple config to HASS as per the instructions nothing appears and can’t see any errors either.
What should the Pocket Casts sensor display. I was presuming I could play podcasts or integrate with another media player component. The documentation is very sparse.
Anyone using the component who can confirm it works and what I should see?
It does work. It shows how many unlistened episodes you have.
Thank you, it is working but was nestled in among some other sensors and I missed it. Guess I need to tidy HASS up.
Really wish I could integrate Pocket Casts with HASS media players somehow but the web interface doesn’t really appear to offer any api that I could see.
Yeah that would have been nice.
Hi, I submitted the initial pocketcasts implementaion (using a third party library: Pocket Casts integration).
I agree it currently only provides very basic functionality and it would be awesome if we could somehow integrate it with media players to be able to automate playing of new episodes etc. Feel free to provide enhancements!
One first step would also be to switch to this library instead: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pocketcasts-api/0.2.2 (since it is published in pypi, with a very similar API to the one currently used)
