well, not everyone uses or likes iOS. I have all Android devices, so the iOS app is worthless to me.

2 MQTT servers would be used so that ONE of them is public facing, and there is a bridge to your internal. On your internal network, on YOUR firewall, you would basically only allow MQTT traffic from your external MQTT server to your internal MQTT server. You would never have to technically open a port to the world.

Yea… stupid sorry… To much focused on my own solution. Lol

So easy thing about this setup is that you can have your internal Pi/HA with low protection (easy or non passwords etc)?

• both servers are on the same machine so you don’t go through one to get to the other. The reason to have 2 mosquitto processes running is that the external one is locked down and requires login and a certificate before it will allow any connection.

hmm this stuf is pretty new for me. So if i understand correct:
1 Machine for example a Raspberry Pi, with 2 mosquitto processes running, wich you bridge on the same machine to talk? Then 1 of the 2 mosquitto’s is portforwarded to talk to outside my lan (owntracks etc), and the other one is connected to my HA?

Correct me if im wrong please!
