Possible to set input_slider value from another source?

I’m using the input_slider to set my thermostat. It communicates with my HVAC via the SmartThings bridge with no issue.
The HVAC and SmartThings both reflect the value set with the slider.

Is it possible to have the slider reflect a change made directly from the HVAC and SmartThings?
